La Rosiere Ski Resort France

La Rosiere in Savoy is situated along the French – Italian border of the French Alps, and resides at 1850m on the slopes of Le Roc Noir (2400m). The resort is linked with La Thuile, in the Aosta Valley, as part of the Espace San Bernardo which provides plenty of skiing (snowboarding) on easy to challenging pistes, powder fields, parks, tree-lines and much more. The scenery is breathtaking from every angle; with the majestic Mont Blanc a focal point!

The resort itself is traditional and rustic, making it a rather pleasant place to walk around. With plenty of shops, including equipment, food, and chemist, you will not have to worry if you have forgotten or lost something. The bars and restaurants are welcoming too!

We stayed in a twelve person catered chalet, through Ski Beat, in Les Eucherts on the edge of La Rosiere, which is in easy walking distance of the centre via a tree lined path! The accommodation was comfortable, and our hosts Alice and Megan very competent and friendly. Importantly the food was good too! There was creche facilities, and there was a toddler staying in the chalet,  so family focused.

There are other facilities in the resort; a list of which can be founder here. However if you like dogs; check out the St. Bernards they are a wonderful breed!

Skiing was excellent with plenty of runs, and with the option to ski over to La Thuile, the days were full! This also meant we could take advantage of the best skiing conditions of La Rosiere, Col Du Petit Saint Bernard or La Thuile whatever the weather!

An adult lift pass for the whole Espace San Bernardo cost 194€

If you do venture to La Thuile I recommend a visit to La Maison de Laurent Restaurant; the food, wine and ambiance is fabulous. Its  away from the main ski area, however if you book a table they will provide a taxi service to pick you up and return you to the Funivie Piccolo San Bernardo
