Founded in Sun Valley, Idaho back in 1965 Smith Optics were the first company of its type to design and create a sealed thermal lens with breathable ventilation foam! Right from the start founder Bob Smith, a dentist by trade, created the first prototype goggles from anything you would find in a dentist from the foam to the glue. Back in the day lift passes were expensive so in exchange for these revolutionary snow goggles Smith and his friends would receive free lift passes. Wow they certainly had the right idea work hard, play hard! The continued development of Smith Optic technologies has lead this company to become a market leader for ski goggle innovation. Taking the exclusive styling found in their goggles Smith designers have ventured into the protection area, helmets in particular designing some of the safest and best looking helmets in the world.
