AltBerg
When the Richmond Shoe Factory was forced to close in 1989, after 20 years of working and learning the boot making craft there, Mike Sheehan felt as if it was the end of an era for English boot making. So, he created Alt-Berg. Now sold only in independent stores across the UK, Alt-Berg is the last remaining British boot maker still based in the UK. They are specialists in crafting hand-made technical boots for a range of purposes; from hiking to leisure, motorcycle to military boots.
Making around 150 pairs a day, this small, tight-knit community of dedicated craftsmen at Alt-Berg pride themselves on keeping the quality and production of their boots at an all time high; whilst keeping the traditional methodology and knowledge passed down by Sheehan alive. Alt-Berg’s boots are tried and tested for their durability and longevity due to the leather used, the classic English style will suit anyone wanting a solid pair of walking boots.
